More Predation
The Burrowing Rockmite (Cimex punctatum), though tiny, seriously endangers Tuberosum
alpinus
. As a specimen snoozes on a sun-baked outcrop, these pathogenic rockmites emerge
from small crevices and burrow through the specimens' skin, ranging randomly throughout the
body causing extreme pain and eventually, upon reaching the brain, death.
